The selections on Side 1 (originally issued in 1952 on Columbia GL 103, a 10" LP of the same title) were recorded to disc vs. tape. The selections on Side 2 (originally issued in 1955 on Columbia CL 6162, a 10" LP entitled "Sugar and Spice") were recorded to magnetic tape, yet the sound quality of CL 631 is homogeneous, with there being no detectable difference in sound between the two sides of the LP. The album, erroneously placed in the "jazz" genre, is actually a uniquely orchestrated album of mood music and despite being mono, is one of the best of its type. Original stock copies of this LP have maroon labels with gold print while second pressings have 6-eye red labels.

I worked for a reissue label that had been interested in reissuing Otto Cesana's Columbia material, however conversations with Special Products people at Sony Music revealed that once Columbia no longer had interest in reissuing Cesana's recordings themselves, the masters for his Columbia recordings were surrendered to him. Otto Cesana returned to his native Italy, where he passed away in 1980. His surviving relatives in the U.S. are apparently in possession of his Columbia and Audio Fidelity masters, but have no interest in being bothered about them.
