Pink Floyd The Wall is a 1982 musical film directed by Alan Parker, based on the 1979 Pink Floyd album The Wall. The screenplay was written by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist Roger Waters. Bob Geldof plays rock star Pink, who, driven into insanity by the death of his father, constructs a physical and emotional wall to protect himself. Like the album, the film is highly metaphorical, and symbolic imagery and sound are present most commonly. The film is mostly driven by music and does not feature much. The album, unlike the film, is bookended by the selection Outside the Wall with the last few notes of that song played in the beginning of the first selection of the album, In the Flesh. What is interesting is that if you repeat the album on a loop easier done these days with a mp3 version of the album played on a media player, the last three words heard in the album, which are Isn't this where, are merged with the first three words heard in the album, which are We came in to. form the sentence Isn't this where we came in. When Pink throws the television out the window before he cuts his hand, he mouths Take that, fuckers, but we hear Next time, fuckers . The Wall Full Album. Pink Floyd. The Wall. No American director would or could have made Pink Floyd The Wall Empire, AA. It is simply not the sort of project the Spielbergs, Scorseses and Coppolas would interest themselves in. Which is a very good reason why people like Alan Parker should exist, even if his collaborators on this extraordinary film, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd and Gerald Scarfe, the artist, found his conception of it different to their own. At least something exists on celluloid, and millions who bought the album will see it. Pink Floyd The Wall is a 1982 British live-actionanimated musical drama film directed by Alan Parker with animated segments by political cartoonist Gerald Scarfe, and is based on the 1979 Pink Floyd album of the same name. The film centers around a confined rocker named Pink, who, after being driven into insanity by the death of his father and many depressive moments during his lifetime, constructs a metaphorical and sometimes physical wall to be protected from the world and emotional situations around him. When this coping mechanism backfires he puts himself on trial and sets himself fre. The Wall was Roger Waters' crowning accomplishment in Pink Floyd. It documented the rise and fall of a rock star named Pink Floyd, based on Waters' own experiences and the tendencies he'd observed in people around him. By then, the bassist had firm control of the group's direction, working mostly alongside David Gilmour and bringing in producer Bob Ezrin as an outside collaborator. Drummer Nick Mason was barely involved, while keyboardist Rick Wright seemed to be completely out of the picture. Still, The Wall was a mighty, sprawling affair, featuring 26 songs with vocals:. That's the premise behind Pink Floyd's conceptual album, The Wall 1979, which talks about an individual who decided to hide behind the wall he built by the abandonment of his father, the overbearing nature of his mother, the dark state of society, human nature, fame, and war. That's clearly not a hopeful situation for a hurt psyche like his. Roger Waters turned solitude, loneliness, and emotional collapse into a powerful-and beautiful-opera with The Wall and its fictional character, Pink Floyd. 1 9:03 The Happiest Days of Our Lives 10:51 Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 14:50 Mother 20:23 Goodbye Blue Sky 23:11 Empty Spaces 25:19 Young Lust 28:49 One of My Turns 32:27 Don't Leave Me Now 36:44 Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 3 37:59 Goodbye Cruel World 39:16 Hey You 43:59 Is There Anybody Out There 46:39 Nobody Home 50:01 Vera 51:36 Bring The Boys Back Home 53:02 Comfortably Numb 59:24 The Show Must Go On 1:01:00 In The Flesh 1:05:18 Run Like Hell 1:09:24 Waiting for the Worms 1:13:41 Stop 1:14:11 The Trial 1:19:31 Outside The Wall.
