Untitled didn't come close to the punch of The Rembrandts, as the duo moved away from the bright pop that shone on the previous effort in favor of a more subdued approach. And while the subject matter - mainly songs of yearning and lost love - hasn't changed much since the debut, the subtle string arrangements and minor-key melodies blend quite nicely, bringing out the themes more fully.
