This is the fourteenth release from 'The Best Dance Album Ever' series, and up until around 1997, it was doing better than any other dance compilation that I have ever listened to. The series then started to become sluggish in the late 90's to the point of being dead around 2000-2001. I wasn't expecting very much from this release to be honest, but when I purchased it and put it on, I was reasonably surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The first CD is the less-serious of the two, containing more pop hits rather than dance. While the title is unquestionably a subjective call, this two-disc set compiles some of the best club and commercial dance hits of 2002. The styles and tempos shift between all sorts of genres - including 2-step, garage, house, trance, rap, and Europop - to provide an accurate canvas of the dance scene. Some of bigger contributions come courtesy of Missy Elliott 4 My People, Kylie Minogue Can't Get You Out of My Head, Moby We Are All Made of Stars, and Aaliyah More Than a Woman. item 1 The Best Dance 2002 - 42 Various Tracks 2CD NEWSEALED -The Best Dance 2002 - 42 Various Tracks 2CD NEWSEALED.

There are some very good tunes here though, such as X Press 2's Lazy, Moony's Dove, Robert Sanchez's Another Chance and other cool hits such as 'Point Of View' and iio's Rapture. The rest of the track list is quite forgettable so I can't really give it a perfect score, but it definitely is worth it and interesting all around.

I was not expecting much coming into the second disc either, but at least to say, it was so much better! I loved Who Do You Love Now - Riva featuring Danni Minogue, Something - Lasgo, 4 String's - Take Me Away (Into The Night), N Trance's Set You Free, True Love Never Dies - Flip & Fill, Resurrection - PPK and Drifting Away - Lange featuring Skye. For an early 00's album, this CD did it really well. I love that type of music that makes you want to get up in the morning and appreciate life and the present. Great one!

In conclusion, this is the definite mix of superb anthems. 'The Best Dance Album Ever' series had been declining long before this one was released, but this just proved that there was at least one more excellent entry to be had. While the first disc contains the more cheesy dance hits and pop related anthems of the time, the second is superb and demonstrates why the trance genre is so successful.
